Different Aspect of Culture

Word "culture" came from the Latin 'cultura' stemming from 'colere', meaning to cultivate, generally refers to patterns of human activity and the symbolic structures that give such activity significant importance. Different definitions of "culture" reflect different theoretical and the culture of peoples theirselves around the world. In Malaysia, culture is manifested in music, literature, painting and sculpture, theater and film. For example we have 'dikir barat'(music), 'mak yong' and 'wayang kulit'(theater) and many more. We also can see many differences in culture between ethnics lived in Malaysia (Malays, Indians, Chinese, and many more).
Besides that, in defining culture there are several definitions including :-
-Culture as civilization
-Culture as worldview

-Culture as symbols
-Culture as a stabilizing mechanism
-Culture and evolutionary psychology

Besides that, there are three kinds of influence cause both change and resistance to culture such as:-forces at work within a society
-contact between societies
-changes in the natural environment

But in Malaysia there are many steps taken by government to keep our culture alive and with that steps we can attract tourist by show our culture in international events.

Education and Learning

Education encompasses teaching and learning specific skills, and also something less tangible but more profound: the imparting of knowledge, positive judgment and well-developed wisdom. The goal of education is to establish a sound knowledge base on which students will be able to build as they are exposed to different life experiences.

Education process:-Learning modalities
- Teaching
-Parental involvement
-Education technology

Education system in Malaysia including primary, secondary and higher educations. 1)Primary or elementary education consists of the first years of formal, structured education that occur during childhood. In most countries, it is compulsory for children to receive primary education. 2)In most contemporary educational systems of the world, secondary education consists of the second years of formal education that occur during adolescence. It is characterised by transition from the typically compulsory, comprehensive primary education for minors to the optional, selective tertiary, "post-secondary", or "higher" education (e.g., university, vocational school) for adults. Depending on the system, schools for this period or a part of it may be called secondary or high schools. 3)Higher education, also called tertiary, third stage or post secondary education, often known as academia, is the non-compulsory educational level following the completion of a school providing a secondary education, such as a high school, secondary school, or gymnasium. Tertiary education is normally taken to include undergraduate and postgraduate education.

The history of education according to Dieter Lenzen, president of the Freie Universität Berlin 1994 "began either millions of years ago or at the end of 1770". Education as a science cannot be separated from the educational traditions that existed before. Education was the natural response of early civilizations to the struggle of surviving and thriving as a culture.

Transport & Tourism

The variety of transports today make us easier to move from one place to another especially far place and public transport especially play the main role in our country especially in tourism. There are many types of transport including in public transportation such as taxi, train, aeroplane, buses and many more.

In big city such as Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru, using buses and train can reduce the traffic jam, help to keep away the air pollution and we also can save the money by using this mode of transportation. But the bus company in Malaysia need to repair their services such as use new buses to attract tourist during visit Malaysia year especially.

Before this I went to Pulau Perhentian and Pulau Redang in Terengganu and I used two different boat when I go and came back from there. The first one is big size boat and second one is speed boat where it is much faster than first one. There are also many tourist used theis transport and most of them satisfied with the services.

For the conclusion, government need to take care of our public transportation and repair their services if they want to serve better to community and attract more tourist to Malaysia.

In IELTS, there are four components that will be test such as listening, speaking, writing and reading. I need to do well in this examination so that i've taken some rigorous efforts in improving my english.
So far, to improve my reading skill, I read The Star and The New Straits Times newspapaper every day. This english newspapers provide new vocabularies for me and I also can learn how the writer use words and arrange sentences in their news. Besides that, I also read english magazines such as Four Four Two and articles in internet. The exercises given by my english teacher, Miss Eliza also help me in improving my reading skills.
To improve my writing skills I always try to do all the essay exercises given and update my blog. This effort help me think wider than the ordinary border and sharpen my writing skills.

My Eid Experience

I arrived at my house at 1.30 a.m on 11th October and that means there are 2 days left before Eid Mubarak. So in 2 days time, I help my family cleaning the house such as wipe the windows, cleaning the fans and also the outside of our house. I also went to my grandmother’s house located just a stone throw from my house to see her cooking ‘ketupat’, ‘rendang’ and other malay dishes. My relative also gathered in grandma’s house one day before Eid and sleep there.
During Eid, I wake up early, take my bath and perform Subuh prayer. After that I have my meal like ‘ketupat’, ‘rendang’and ‘nasi himpit’ with ‘kuah kacang’. About 8.30 a.m , all my family members go to the nearby mosque to perform solat sunat Eid and I noticed that there are many people in that mosque. And of course all muslim in that mosque wear their new ‘baju melayu’ with ‘songkok’ or ‘kopiah’. Next, we pray and listen to the ‘khutbah’ with all of our heart and we thanks God for the prosperity and peace that we can feel nowadays. After we finish that, all muslim take the opportunity to seek apologize among them and so I and my family members. We also visit the grave where my late grandfather and relative were buried and there we pray for their peace and the lesson that I can get is we need to remember that we will die one day and because of that we need to do many good deeds as we can before we die.
In the afternoon, some of my family member go out to visit their friends and I just stay home, serving for guess that visit my house. There are also many children from my neighbourhood come to our house and of course their main target is ‘kuih-muih’ and ‘duit raya’. I remember my childhood where I got a lot of ’duit raya’ during Eid but now I’m 18 and just too old to get ‘duit raya’ (laughing). Well, that is my experience for 1st day of Eid and the second day is almost the same situation where my family visit our relstives and get the guest that come to our house. On the 3rd day of Eid, my family and I go to the open house held by our representative in Parliament, Datuk Shaari at school field in Tanah Merah town. There are many kinds of food there and also lucky draw with many interesting prizes. Unluckily, we didn’t get any of the prizes and go home with frustration.

Business: COCA-COLA

The coca-cola started as a one man business and over 100 years it has become one of the largest company in the world. The founder of the coca-cola company was Dr. John Pemberton and the current operator is Roberto Goizueta.

Coca-cola was invented in 1886 by Dr. John Pemberton, an Atlanta pharmacist. He mixed the combination of lime, cinnamon, coca leaves and the seeds of aBrazilian shrub to make the fabulous beverage. From that time, the owners of the coca-cola company changed for many time :

Dr. John Pemberton > Asa Candler ($2300) > Ernest Woodruff ($25 million) > Robert Woodruff (Ernest Woodruff's son) > Don Keough (president).

From the early stage untill now, there are alot of research for the new formula was taking place. The known ingredients in present day coca-cola are water, caffeine, phosphoric acid, vanilla, various oils and essences and extracts of the coca leaf and the kola nut.

Besides that, this company also faced many challenges fron rival company, especially Pepsi.
